Lighting

Reynolda Electric's expert team of electricians has been doing lighting jobs for over 30 years, including projects such as sports lighting for high schools, little leagues, and universities. We will work with you on developing your lighting system whether you need a brand new system, an addition to your current layout, some repair work, or a complete overhaul. Whether you require indoor or outdoor lighting, a job covering many acres of sports fields and parking lots, or a job on a slightly smaller scale, we have performed all manner of commercial and industrial installations.

Technology has provided a lot of advances in lighting that enable you to lower your energy consumption, and ultimately your costs. We offer LED retrofitting as well as new installations. This is a cost saver for a typical payback of 3 to 5 years' ROI. Duke Energy also offers some rebates to save even more money. With reduced maintenance on your lights and lower electrical bills, the payoff is especially great when you are in a commercial building or have acres of parking lots. Reynolda Electric recently retrofitted IBM at RTP with RAB fixtures—replacing old shoe box fixtures with new ones. This change allowed the service size to go from about 150 amps to 65 amps as new lights were also added to increase light levels needed.

These new LED fixtures are being installed along most highways and even have smart hubs that can talk to your computer and self-diagnose to let you know if there are problems from fixture failures, power failures, to partial failures. LED lighting started to become affordable in 2012, and we have been installing these systems ever since in colleges, facilities, sports lighting, arenas, and parking lots. As lighting technology has improved, systems have grown more efficient and stable resulting in the manufacturers now offering somewhere between 50,000-100,000 hour warranties and/or 5 or 10 year warranties on fixtures.

We are prepared to help you determine which lighting option will be best suited for the function it will serve. For example, you would not need lighting in a warehouse to be as bright as that used for an assembly line where speed and precision are important. The use of the space will determine the lighting required.

In addition, the cost of fixtures and range of choices from HID to LED and fluorescent technology will be some of the many ways Reynolda can help you select the best product for your needs. We have 30 years of experience working with GE, Hubbell, and Musco sports lighting. When considering a large installation with bulk fixtures, energy savings become increasingly important, and we can help you find substantial savings with low-energy-consumption lighting.

Access to high lighting fixtures such as in parking lots, stadiums, and sports fields is no problem with our bucket trucks. Our fleet of bucket trucks and Digger Derricks, equipped with the latest standards in industry technology, are tested and certified ANSI and electrically tested to stated tag voltages. If you need some maintenance or repair work done in a difficult-to-reach location, our specialized vehicles, which extend from 35-100 feet, are kept fully stocked with lighting repair parts to provide the rapid service you require.

If you have electrical work that needs to be done underground, such as parking lot pole base installations, our specialized equipment allows us to perform horizontal drilling, preventing disturbance to traffic flow. We are able to leave your parking lot, sidewalk, or other surface intact while we tackle the problem area with horizontal drills. Our state-of-the-art machinery enables drilling vertical holes from 18 to 48 inch holes and a depth of 22 ft if required. We can install rebar and concrete along with anchor bolts and conduit for power circuit.

Reynolda Electric will analyze your lighting needs to provide you with the most cost-effective and efficient solutions, and then we will work with you to create a plan within your budget.
